Buffalo Springfield's first album

 1966  12 songs  33 minutes Band Members include Neil Young & Stephen Stills. Good music, but this period of just 3 albums was like an incubation for the more mature band-to-be Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. For What It's Worth  This was a massive hit because it's a protest anthem that could be played for any cause at any time.  Apparently, its intention was that hippies were protesting a curfew.  Go and Say Goodbye Sit Down I Think I love You Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing Hot Dusty Roads Flying on the Ground Is Wrong Burned Do I Have to Come Right out.. Leave Out of My Mind  Neil Young's voice is good. But there's a touch of whininess. His most annoying song from his solo album Harvest  is A Man Needs a Maid . Pay the Price

Peter, Paul and Mary: their first album

Bad Company's first album is called, imaginatively, Bad Company. Perfect album. Can the band repeat? 8 songs 35 minutes Paul Rodgers is the lead singer with an exceptional voice.   Boston's first album is called, imaginatively, Boston. The album cover! Spaceship guitars fleeing an exploding planet.  8 songs, 38 minutes. Almost a masterpiece. More Than A Feeling - this is a masterpiece opener. About an old girlfriend that walked away. Peace of Mind - another masterpiece. It's anti Rat Race.   " Now you're climbin' to the top of the company ladder Hope it doesn't take too long Can'tcha you see there'll come a day when it won't matter? Come a day when you'll be gone, whoa" Foreplay/Long Time  Seriously long instrument opening. About leaving a relationship that sadly has expired. Almost 8 minutes. " Well, I'm takin' my time, I'm just movin' on You'll forget about me after I've been gone And I take what I find, I don't want no more It's just outside of your front door" Rock & Roll Band - this is what makes the album not a masterpiece.   Elvis's first album is called, imaginatively, Elvis Presley.   10 songs. 28 minutes Elvis wrote none of the songs.  This is pure Rockabilly. Hits: Blue Suede Shoes by Carl Perkins is the first song.  I Got A Woman and Tutti Frutti were much smaller hits. Money Honey is the last song and is worth listening to. Rolling Stone listed this album as #56 on their list of top 500 albums.  What were they thinking?
